Just completed this today.

This was my second time rappelling and my first time canyoneering, though I was the third in a group with two other very experienced canyoneers, and it was a total blast. I have never done anything this insane and exhilarating in my life, and only ate it on the last waterfall, but caught myself after a 2 or 3 foot drop and regained footing.

It’s incredible how beautiful the upper, untouched parts of the canyon are. Makes me sad that the lower parts are filled with garbage and graffiti.

Just wanted to say thank you for the informative blog posts. We share your passion for hiking and the outdoors and are planning to tackle this hike on an upcoming visit to Maui (we just visited last month and already are planning a return!).
